information depth

Information comes in various forms really it always has. These days the forms that information comes in greatly effects the way it is used. For example I watch Chelsey Lately on a fairly regular basis. I often talk about something she or one of her round table says when conversing with a friend. I wouldn't use the show as a source in an academic paper though.
Research requires that we make sure our sources are credible. As students we have a responsibility to ensure accuracy.  To do that we need to know whether our sources are credible. Books, journals academic approved online sources are all credible. even these have different purposes though. The information found in a journal is most likely fresher that that found in a book. Books are good resources for historical information such as a paper in art history. If I need to write an artist statement and include modern art influences I would probably need to find an art journal or website to site.
